Hardwood
Hardwood flooring installation in Naples, FL
Solid and engineered hardwood acclimated on site and installed to Gulf-coast humidity standards, so the floor does not gap in season two.
Real wood in Southwest Florida is entirely doable — it just has to be specified for a house that swings from sealed-up summer humidity to dry, conditioned winter air. Engineered plank on a slab handles that cycle far better than solid, and we will tell you when solid is the wrong answer.
Every board is delivered and left in the room for a minimum acclimation window before installation, with the HVAC running at the setting you actually live at, not a jobsite temperature.

How the job runs
- 01
Subfloor assessment
We check flatness and slab moisture first — hardwood telegraphs every high spot left behind.
- 02
On-site acclimation
Material sits in the room with the HVAC at your living setting before a single board is fastened.
- 03
Layout and racking
Boards are racked from multiple cartons so grain and color variation reads natural, not blotchy.
- 04
Trim and transitions
Shoe moulding, stair nosing and flush transitions finished by the same crew that laid the floor.
Hardwood questions we get asked
Can you install hardwood over a concrete slab in Florida?
Yes — with engineered hardwood, glued down over a moisture-tested and, where needed, moisture-mitigated slab. We generally advise against solid hardwood directly on Florida slabs.
Will hardwood gap in a seasonal home?
It can if the house is left unconditioned. If you snowbird, hold the thermostat around 78°F with humidity control and choose engineered plank — that combination is what keeps seams tight.
Can my existing hardwood be refinished instead?
Often, yes. If the wear layer has enough thickness left, refinishing costs less than replacement. We will measure it and tell you honestly which makes sense.
